How does switching between the three colours work?
A short press steps the light through three whites: cool white for focus, natural white for everyday use and warm amber for winding down. It is one lamp with three moods and no bulbs to change.
What does infinite dimming mean in practice?
It means stepless. You do not click through two or three fixed levels; you press and hold, and the light slides continuously from full output to a low glow, so you can stop at exactly the level your eyes find comfortable.
Does it run from a cord or a rechargeable battery?
Corded. It plugs in and stays in one place, so you get full brightness all evening with nothing to remember to charge. If you would like a lamp to carry around the house, look at our cordless lamps.
Does it flicker when dimmed low?
No. The dimming is a smooth analogue slide, not a series of steps, so the light stays steady at its lowest glow with no flicker and no hum.
Does it provide enough light for reading?
Yes, on natural or cool white at full output there is plenty of light for reading in a chair or in bed. It is made to light the corner it stands in.
Does the glass heat up?
No. The LED runs cool, so the opal dome is comfortable to touch even after hours at full brightness.
